At my church we are beginning the process of starting a schools ministry. In other words, going into a school, building relationships and proclaiming the Gospel. Telling people about the love and grace of Jesus.
This morning i went to a breakfast of like-minded people run by a gang called Youth Dimension. It was good to meet a few people, hear their passion and talk about reaching high school aged kids.
There was a great spread for breakfast and even real coffee available for those who wanted it. However, what got me excited the most was the talk. Jamie, one of the leaders at YD spoke brilliantly about the grace of God and the way in which He has lavished so many good gifts on us. For Him to send Christ to the cross to take the punishment for my sin is hitting home more and more each day. How great is the love of God, how sufficient is the gift of Christ and how wonderful it is to call Him Lord.
It is one thing to follow Christ and say we believe that He existed and came to save me from my sin and give me eternal life. But it is another thing entirely to see the rescuing and gracious nature of God, who brings us to Himself, holds us in His hand and says “my grace is sufficient for you.”
Praise be to God, may i worship Him all of my days and may i be a passionate and joyful follower of Him.
